was erected on a private estate in the Mojave Desert, situated on the skirts of famed hippie hotspot Joshua Tree. Architect Tomas Osinski designed the home for illustrious film producer Chris Hanley and his wife Roberta. Known for such films as “American Psycho,” “Spring Breakers” and “The Virgin Suicides,” it’s no wonder they opted for an architectural treasure that drew inspiration from the monolith in Stanley Kubrick’s sci-fi classic “2001: A Space Odyssey.” The mirrored walls blend the home into its natural, and contradictory, surroundings. Sleek angles and a glistening reflection are contrasted by the rugged characteristics of ancient desert terrain, like a watery mirage on dry land.
